This time last year, the “ecovators” entered our radar behind their groundbreaking styrofoam alternative. Now, Ecovative Design – a Green Island, New York based start-up – has announced a deal with Ford to develop a fungus-based, biodegradable material to be used for car bumpers, doors, and dashboards.

This Kindergarten Kekec in Ljubljana, Slovenia encourages kids to color on the walls, so to speak. It’s a multi-functional approach which brings the structure to life. The exterior walls are comprised of wooden slats with a natural finish on one side, and vibrant color on the other, making it both a means to direct nature’s elements while allowing the young ones to continually transform the color pattern of the facade.

It’s that time of the year again. ADC has their annual call for entries—this year being the ninth edition. ADC Young Guns is the only global, cross-disciplinary portfolio competition that identifies today’s vanguard of young creative professionals under 30 years of age. Deadline to enter is May 16th.
