In his new short titled “Pixels”, Patrick Jean makes NYC the epicenter of a straight up, old school pixelated odyssey – of sorts. He takes it back to the 80′s, paying homage to classic video games such as King Kong, Pacman, Space Invaders, Tetris, and yes, that was Frogger making his way through NYC traffic.

2010: The Year GE Gets “Smart”

Due to hit stores as early as the fall of 2010, the GE Energy Smart LED replaces 40-watt general service incandescent bulbs with nine watts of consumption, 450 lumens of light, and 25,000 hours of rated life.

GE’s press release elaborates: “This is a bulb that can virtually light your kid’s bedroom desk lamp from birth through high school graduation,” says John Strainic, global product general manager, GE Lighting. “It’s an incredible advancement that’s emblematic of the imagination and innovation that GE’s applying to solve some of the world’s biggest challenges.”

Get in the Loop

Mohawk Fine Paper has recently announced the launch of ‘Mohawk Loop’ — the most comprehensive line of recycled and environmentally preferable papers. Bay Area design studio Tomorrow Partners was responsible for the visual brand of the new line of paper.

Defining The Value of Design

It took 1 money counter and 2218 custom bills to create this well done stop-action video to help promote the 2010 Design Currency Conference that will be held in Vancouver later this month. Haiti Poster Project

The Haiti Poster Project
was a call for action that brought together artists and designers from around the world to benefit the victims of the earthquake that hit Haiti on January 12th of this year. All limited edition posters submitted were donated by each individual artist with all money raised going to Doctors Without Borders. To view the collection go here.
