The Obama Brand: A retrospective

Without question, Barack Obama’s identity raised the bar of political campaign branding. It is by far the best-designed identity of a U.S. presidential candidate - courtesies of two leading Chicago-based firms: Sender & MODE.

In Mr. Sender’s words:

“We were looking at the ‘O’ of his name and had the idea of a rising sun and a new day. The sun rising over the horizon evoked a new sense of hope.”

We’ve included a visual retrospective on the logo, how it evolved and extended as an identifier throughout his campaign.
