
Blickfang Vienna 2008 – an international design, furniture & fashion event – had many highlights this year with the Sydney Corner leading the way.
The Australian brands selected represent the diverse spectrum of innovative design in Australian from fashionable, eco-friendly Envirosax bags to award winning NEOZ lamps. Other participants included Djaafar, Steven Harkin, F!NK & Co., Husque, Marc Pascal, Third Drawer Down, Zaishu and Luisa Clare.

Pepsi is redesigning it’s circular logo to resemble a smirk. According to Advertising Age:
The unofficial logo will now loosely form a series of smiles. A “smile” will characterize brand Pepsi, while a “grin” is used for Diet Pepsi and a “laugh” is used for Pepsi Max.
PepsiCo today said it will pour some $1.2 billion over three years into a push that will include sweeping changes to its brands, including what Chairman-CEO Indra Nooyi characterized as a revamp of “every aspect of the brand proposition for our key [carbonated soft drink] brands. How they look, how they’re packaged, how they will be merchandised on the shelves, and how they connect with consumers.” (more…)

Designed by Derrik Wang, this particular piggy bank has an interesting way to keep one from dipping into one’s savings all willy-nilly. If the bank is broken open, gross little pig innards come flying out.
