Crossing the line

Here is another rogue street artist called Roadsworth who’s on par with Banksy. The Montreal based street artist began his quest of fusing graphic imagery in the streets shortly after 9/11 to communicate his thoughts on the world’s dependency on oil. In 2004 he was charged with 53 counts of mischief and faced almost 100 grand in fines. Due to massive public outcry, he was given a lenient sentence. His work is thoughtful, powerful, and integrated into the Montreal streets.

Since his bout with the law, he’s been commissioned to do legal public works and has a new documentary coming out called “Roadsworth: Crossing the Line” (more…)

Sappi and Volvo join forces

It’s called GreenForBlue, and their motto is simple: “one car and several trees at a time.”

The benefits of the project are manifold: It will contribute to the worldwide effort to curb global warming; it will increase the biodiversity on land owned and cultivated by Sappi; it will promote the growth of indigenous trees; local communities and schools in these areas will benefit financially from the project; and it will ensure a healthier environment.

Visual Dialogue

Here’s an interesting graphic representation of the entire script of the classic cult film, Clerks. The visual breakdown is as followed:

Each colored block represents one second in the movie with individual blocks grouped into rows of sixty seconds… The color of each block indicates the character speaking at that specific moment in time. Seconds with no active speaker are indicated by a split gray block and character lines containing profanity are indicated by white dots in the corresponding blocks.
